Great outdoor patios in MKE?

I'll be going to Jersey Boys next week and would like to find a great patio downtown for happy hour before the show. I don't get to eat downtown much. So, I'm not sure where the best spots are anymore. Anyone have recommendations?

One friend recommended Iron Horse. Any opinions? TIA!

  1. IronHorse isn't exactly downtown, but it has a great outdoor space.
Bacchus has a nice outdoor dining patios.
Rock Bottom has outdoor dining right along the Milwaukee River.
Cafe Benelux is roof top dining overlooking the Third Ward.
I have been to all and remember them as being good places to eat, depending on what level of pricing and casualness or not.

    1. Your friend was spot on. The iron horse has one of the best patios in the city. It's right over the 6th Street bridge from downtown, minutes from the theatre. The only downside is that the drinks are expensive, really expensive.

      1. I've always been a fan of the patio at Trocadero. A really nice and resonably priced beer/wine list and great food. Their blackberry currant mojito is one of my favorite non-beer drinks in MKE. Technically not "downtown", but very close.

        1. The outside area at Harbor House is lovely. Some raw bar items and drinks would make a lovely pre-theater repast!

          1. Here is a guide from On Milwaukee. Hope it helps!
