Does anyone have any dining recommendations for the Pisa area (to include Tirrenia and Livorno)? Open to any suggestions - lunch or dinner - pizzas, pastas, steaks, or wonderful seafood. We enjoy everything and just want something very authentic and not for tourists.
Thank you in advance.
You should definitely visit Lucca, which is not only a beautiful town but also has some very good places to eat. I have only been to Buca di San Antonio, but there are other places that have been recommended on this board. Just use the search box at the top of this page, put in Lucca, and some threads should pop up.
Bella Napoli pizzeria is good...my husband and I had pizza there not long ago. We don't go to Pisa often. Of course, it's not as good as the pizza in Napoli itself, but pretty close because they use a wood fired oven and the pizzaiolo is Napolitano.
Not expensive, either. Here is the link.
I recommend the Margherita (of course), since it is the most
classic and best of pizza choices.
