Angeleno coming to Boston - What can't I miss?

PimpinDG Jul 13, 2011 02:12 PM

I'll be in Boston from July 20th until the 24th. It's my first time and I would love to know what I can't miss. Thank you in advance.

In your research thus far, has anything caught your eye in terms of how much you want to spend and what sort of atmosphere you are looking for?

There are also some other threads from Angelenos which may be of assistance:

I'm willing to spend money but as a bartender, I can't go too crazy.

To elaborate, I want a local's experience, although, Neptune Oysters seems great. Italian in the North End, perhaps.

For Italian food in July, sure try a place in the North End (and also check the North End street festival schedule) but also head over to East Somerville to Vinny's At Night or North Cambridge to Gran Gusto.

For other local experiences, seek out the original Pizzeria Regina in the North End or Santarpio's in East Boston. Continuing in East Boston, try to get into Rino's - if you can't, go to Rincon Limeno (Peruvian) for some kick-ass ceviche and fried seafood. Actually, just plan to go there regardless.

As a bartender, you will want to visit Drink. Check the bartender threads for lots of discussions about other good bars/cocktails.

Definitely get lobster roll, hot w/ butter @ Neptune - you won't find a lobster roll that good in L.A.
