Fire at 5 Corners Kitchen in Marblehead
Saw it on the news a few minutes ago. Just spoke with Chef/Owner Barry and he was obviously happy no one was hurt. Sounds like there was extensive smoke and water damage.
He sounded optimistic about opening back up in a few weeks which is great!

Would you believe I made a res for Sat dinner at 5 Corners less than 2 hours ago..online.
Any other suggestions; need walking distance from town dock.

Thx..I had been there a few years ago and wasn't impressed but their site indicates new(er) owners.
Kudos to 5 Corners for calling me today to tell me about the fire and that they would be closed. It would seem obvious but doesn't always happen and a customer ends up showing up for a res at a place that has had to close.

re: 9lives
We never mad it to Jack Tar's. First night, the striper gods were smiling on us..so we just baked with capers, onions, white wine.
Next day,, we were kidnapped and forced to drink rum punches at Maddies and then a few at the Corinthian YC porch..great spot. The grill was looking good so some home cooking.
Re Jack Tar, I have to admit to a bias cuz of an old post on CH...3years and places change but it's always stuck in my mind..

Would not advise anyone to bother going to Jack Tars. The menu has changed for the worse and food is lousy. It used to be a great place but now the menu is so limited."
