Casual dinner downtown Napa

Looking for a casual, relaxed and reasonably priced dinner in the downtown Napa area. Suggestions please?

My casual favorites downtown are Bistro Sabor, Norman Rose, and Pizza Azzurro. I never see posts about Zinsvalley in it's "new" location downtown. I haven't been since it moved from Browns Valley. Any thoughts on that one Napa folks?

Been to Zinsvalley a few times now and am horribly unimpressed - and I loved it in its old location.

I have had a grilled halibut which was topped with a mango salsa that was inedibly salty.

During a lunch visit, I had the crab cake salad and when I pulled out a LONG, BLACK, WIREY hair out of my crab cake. When brought to their attention, the waitress brought it back to the kitchen to show them and then nothing was done; nothing comped, barely an apology.

      I won't return.

There are so many choices! After living in Napa for 10 years, I was able to taste them all! Just up the street from the Opera House is Azzurro Pizzeria for delicious pizza (Napa style) and Neela's for some of the best contemporary Indian food. Also a hit are two places up the street on First - Norman Rose for brew pub style food and Oenotri for delicious Italian. Where ever you choose to dine in Downtown Napa will be great.

Azzurro Pizza is very good (and similar to Delfina's pizza in the city) and I would hazard to guess that "Napa Style" is that they will throw a salad on top of it...

Chuck, what have you ever eaten at Downtown Joe's that you thought was decent?

Mediocre Buffalo Wings and Quesadillas is not what most people visiting Napa would want to eat and I found their burgers to be greasy and fries to be limp.

Just drove back from Napa yesterday - I'd suggest Ubuntu - location is one block from the Opera House on Main Street, dishes run about $12 - $17 each witth a suggestion of 2 dishes per person to share family style.

Dinner was casual, well paced, the food incredibly inventive, colorful and tasted incredible.

This is a vegetarian / vegetable focused menu.

We actually went higher end and ordered 2 of the four course prix fixe menu selecting the exact opposite dishes and split everything. One of the better meals we've had - and by far the best meal we've had in Napa (we have not eaten at FL yet...)

Also within walking distance in the Oxbow Market just over the brudge - plenty of places to eat in there. Casual and cheap but very good food through and through.

Further afield in Yountville is Bistro Jeanty whose entree seemed to hover in the $25 range. We were going to try them for lunch but went with Bouchon instead.

I've heard good things about Don Giovanni between Napa and Yountville but have yet to try them.

What is "reasonably priced" and what radius from downtown Napa do you consider "area"? If you have a car and can drive the couple of miles to Mustard's I would go there.

I would consider $25 pp before wine and tax and tip to be reasonably priced. We do have a car and would be willing to drive 20 mins or so. We are going to an event at the Napa Opera House so we don't want to get too far away from there. What would you recommend at Mustard's? I ate there many years ago and enjoyed their soft shell crab but don't have any idea what is on their menu these days.

Walking distance from the Opera House are the following restaurants (in order of preference):

Grace's Table (probably the longest walk at six blocks and the best food for the value)
                Zuzu (two blocks, great tapas)
Bistro Sabor (half-a-block, very low-key Latin American food - order at counter)
Carpe Diem (small plates, also two blocks)
Norman Rose (four blocks, amazing lamb burger)
