Dinner around 8th and Walnut

I'm going with my daughter to see Miss Saigon at the Walnut Street Theater. I know that there are quite a few new restaurants in that area but I'm not very familiar with them. We're thinking about Garces Trading Company. Thanks for any thoughts or recommendations.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I forwarded your ideas to my daughter and she's going to pick.

We did Chifa before seeing Miss Saigon. It was wonderful!

I've been to Garces Trading Co and really liked it. I had lunch there with my teen daughter and she thought it was pretty cool!

I think there's a bit of a disparity between the lunch and dinner menus as far as value. Getting a sandwich or salad there makes for a good meal, I think, but at dinner time, the entrees are a little pricier and some can be a bit small. I don't think he's intentionally gouging, just making a lot of stuff from scratch, like pastas, which makes for a pricier dish. This has been discussed on this board before, so I'll cut off my rant.

I'd go to Kanella, 10th and Spruce.

+1 for Kanella. If you like sushi, I'm a fan of Fat Salmon on the 700 block of Walnut.

Another vote for Kanella if you like Greek food.
