Bar Dining

Did some searching but didnt come up with much information regarding bar dining.

Trying to avoid reservations and keep our schedule fluid. Wife and I try and make a point of bar dining on vacation whenever possible. Visit will be in early August Fri-Mon. Other than no chain restaurants we are open to all suggestions. Will be staying at Trump and would prefer to be in walking distance.

We arrive after 9pm on Friday night and am thinking Sable for the first night for drinks and apps.

Other possible ive found are primehouse, oyster bar at shaws, frontera grill.

I know greektown isnt in walking distance from Trump but any of the Greek restaurants conducive to bar dining? Wife has seen too many movies and has flaming saganaki on her mind :)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Keep in mind, a lack of reservations in advance will rule out some places entirely, and others may involve long waits to be seated (where long can exceed 90 minutes), even if you are eating at the bar, unless you arrive before 5:30 or after 9:00. There's no downside to making reservations; there's no cost, and if your plans change, all you need to do is to call to change or cancel. Of course, there are plenty of places where you can walk right in and be seated immediately at any time, but they are not the ones in heavy demand due to great food.

You could also try Purple Pig, although it's pretty small and with a no reserv policy, the waits can be long.

It might be packed but your are able to order dinner at the bar at Frontera Grill - and I believe you can order from either Topo or Frontera -
