Best Super Quick Taqueria in SF?

I am look for a taqueria that can whip up some food in 10 minutes or less, yet is still tasty. I have liked Cancun, the restaurant in Berkeley near Shattuck.

I am also looking for something in the mission district (since that's where the best is).

From order to food, look at La Palma Mexicatessen, El Farolito and Taqueria Guadalajara, La Taqueria and there is a Taqueria Cancun in the Mission district. Can comment on how long the lines might be.

Aren't all taqueria's generally fast? All the fillings are in their little compartments already and most will have the meats pre-cooked. Some will actually re-grill them to heat them up. It's the lines that make you wait.

I really like Taqueria Vallarta's taco station by the front entrance. Well marinated meats that sit on a griddle... top pile gets a scooted down to the heat for a quickie grill. They serve you just the tortillas and meat... you pile on your own onions, cilantro, salsa, and lime. Try the lamb, which I don't find often in other taquerias.

Yeah, the fastest place can be slow if you get a big line at rush hour.

El Tonayense trucks work for me. I'll also 2nd the San Jose Taqueria idea, as long as you eat in.

For tacos, Taqueria San Jose, particularly the al pastor.

I was a fan and hadn't gone for a while, but a few weekends ago, I found the al pastor to be on the bland and dry side.

Could have been just that day. They didn't carve from the spit, that's for sure.

Whoa, if they weren't carving from the spit, I'd tell them to forget it and go elsewhere.

You might try the walk-up window at Haltun. It's fast and tasty especially if you like Yucatán flavors and really spicy salsa. I think I'll ask for "medium" next time. Here's my recent post,

I will add that generally I feel the tacos in Oakland's Fruitvale district can surpass most of what's served in the Mission.
