Kid friendly in SF

tracee Jul 12, 2011 09:51 AM

We have family coming into town for the SF marathon in a few weeks. They want to go out to dinner on Friday near their hotel at Union Square. We go out in SF alot with our 4 year old, but she is a restaurant pro and behaves beautifully wherever we take her. I know that my nephew (6) and neice (2) do not go to restaurants often and my one experience with them at a restaurant was not so great. Anyone have any ideas for places we could go in that area where their behavior would be ok?

Thanks. I am totally at a loss here.

Maybe the food court at the Westfield Mall? It's always busy and noisy and there are a lot of choices for everyone.

Ok, for the non-Chowhound answer. There is a Cheesecake Factory at Macy's. More Chowhoundish? how about cabbing over to Chinatown to one of the big, loud dinning rooms. Great Eastern or some place like that?

I've been to Delancey Street with lots of little kids, and it's always fine. They'd need to walk or hop on the T streetcar along the Embarcadero; but it's a pretty walk toward the ballpark, and they have ridiculously cheap valet parking.
