Help! Need Restaurant Rec in White Plains for Lunch for Top Execs
HI all - I am at a loss here and I need help. My boss is having a meeting next week with top execs both from our company and another and she will take them to lunch. I need a great place that is a bit more upscale. They no longer like 42 - it takes too long, and are done with BLT and Mortons. Does anyone have any ideas? Is there anything new out there? Thanks!

Thanks all for your suggestions. They went to Pranzi and were very happy. Yes, Tarry Hound, the place was not crowded, but my boss said the service was excellent and attentive the food fresh and very good and they liked the atmosphere. And, one of the guests was from Italy and she liked the food very much - and she is very picky about "American" Italian. Sorry I can't give more detail, but I was lucky to get this much info. Suffice it to say, my boss says I pick all the restaurants from now on.

Went to pranzi last Thursday night at 7:30. Place was packed. Smal bar but had about 40 people in entrance area/bar area with a dj playing. dining room in back was also packed, Food was solid. not quite cookery level but very close. loved the sides especially the peas woth guanciale and the campagnola potatoes. caprese pizza was nice but not quite stellar. pastas were good but not quite on level of spadaro or rosa's la scarabitta. SERVICE however was super considering they are fairly new and were jam packed. Some on this board will not like the noise level but hey it's an enoteca so it can be loud! OVERALL a great addition to the local scene but it's in an odd locale. somebody needs to fix up the area behind the 5G's and the mall...that entire drive in /out area feels like a dumpster zone.

The 2 gentlemen that were in nice suits were very warm & friendly even though the bar scene that night at the entrance was almost to much. they found us in the fray and got us to our table right away which was nice. (hostess was nice as well). Polpo is an odd place & depending on who you talk to it can be a double edged sword. Personally I love it but find it not a great "value." Sometimes it can be amazing and other times mediocre and when paying their prices it should always be as close to stellar as possible. I hope that pranzi can stay strong and not turn into another white plains night club that serves more drinks then plates of pancetta spiked pastas & pizzas.

i've had several executive lunches at Milonga. The food is good, with offerings that meet most requirements. Its served professionally and with appropriate pace. The environment allows for a business discussion or friendly conversation. The staff understands the concept of time. The price points show good judgment in how you spend the company money.

re: kaaaassss
I finally got to Pranzi - my boss took me today for lunch. The service was excellent - caring, friendly from the hostess to the waiter. Food was very fresh and flavorful. I had a simple salad "Composta" with grilled chicken. Every item in this very simple preparation was fresh and tasty - down to the sweet as could be onions. My boss had the Pollo Biano Blu - chicken with eggplant, mozzerella in a sherry sauce and a side of brocolli rabe. It was light and delicious. I will certainly go back - maybe for dinner if I'm in the area, and I totally recommend it.

re: cubanat
We were there for lunch, and both had a salad with chicken. So, I really can't comment on the food. But if I am going to take time to go out for a nice lunch, I don't want to be the only one in the restaurant. I found it depressing. I have not been to Serafina in White Plains, but used to enjoy the one on the Upper East Side, so I did want to try it despite the bad reviews on here... Sorry!
