Knife Sharpening in Des Moines Area (or Anywhere in Iowa)

I've never had my knives professionally sharpened, and they need help, but I'm not sure where to take them. Does anyone know of a place in the Des Moines area or southeastern Iowa? Is there a certain sharpening method I should look for? (I've heard of some hardware stores offering to laser-sharpen knives, for example.)
