Date Night in Greenville
I need ideas/recommendations for dinner tomorrow night. It's anniversary time, but being fairly recent grads we can't break the bank. We're both foodies at heart though, so looking for quality eats.
Have eaten a fair amount of sushi recently, so Asian probably isn't in the cards. We're thinking along the lines of Brick Street or Pomegranate...perhaps Brown Street because I have a gift card.
Any other recommendations? And: has anybody tried The Velo Fellow?

Chicora is a good one--I always forget about it being upstairs. Sorry JB but the only meat I eat is fish! Forgot to mention that...so Chophouse is probably a no-go for me.
I'll report back if we end up at Velo! I'm excited to try out their falafel and/or tater tots. :)
Hmm, my giftcard is for $25. Brown Street is looking less intriguing. That and no jazz tonight? Meh.

I've been to Velo several times. The falafels are delicious. They also have a lot of great bacon inspired sandwiches and they really know how to do bacon! It's a fun place with a great atmosphere. The service can be a little spotty at times. They are trying something different though and I really appreciate that in a place!

re: JB BANNISTER
$28 and up a la carte steak? I'm not sure I'd call that budget friendly.
We know you are "mr. meat" in greenville, so i'm interested in your opinion...do you really think highly of the steaks at Chophouse 47? I would not have expected much from a chain.

re: danna
I would not really consider it a chain. They are owned by a restaurant group. I did not see budget friendly. sorry.
I think the dirty martinis are great at City Range. The volcano cake is also nice. Good steaks overall for the value.
Brown Street Jazz is good and expensive. I think almost the same as Chop House.
For something special I really like Gourmet Peaks & Perks

Cleveland, SC 29635She will set up a romantic picnic at a water fall for you to enjoy. We did it a few years ago and was well worth the money and quality was awesome. If the same lady owns it tell her I said hello. You will need to bring your own wine.

Chicora Alley? I always enjoy that, especially if I can get a seat by the windows.
I haven't tried Brown St., but I think it's pretty expensive...better ck the menu and the amount of your card ;-)
Please report back if you try Velo Fellow!
