I was thinking La Med--some platters.

Ann's catering (of Rick & Ann's) is quite good. Lots of pasta and grain salads, various meat platters (the flank steak is always popular), a couple of nice portabello mushroom options, etc. Sort of similar to Whole Foods, but with better execution. And they deliver. http://anns-catering.com/

Much better than La Med (though I use them as well because their platters are definitely the cheapest crowd pleaser I know).

I'd go with La Med... I love their pomegranate chicken; everything they serve is fresh, tastes good, and is affordable.

Hee hee! I suggested to her the same thing just after I sent this! I *think* she's going for something as simple as Whole Foods, but La Med is so much better in my mind!
