  1. Emilitsa and Petite Jacqueline are open on Mondays.

    1. As are all of the Harding Smith venues: Grill Room, Front Room, Corner Room. And I'm pretty sure Street & Company, Portland's best overall fine-dining-for-seafood restaurant, is too. But Petite Jacqueline is, as Sciencediet suggests, a great choice: http://www.petitejacqueline.com/

      1. I've got two for you. First, as I read that you are of Greek heritage, I'll piggyback on sciencediet and suggest Emilitsa. Rustic Greek with a James Beard nominated chef, it's often overlooked but I had a wonderful meal there a few months ago for my wifes birthday. I'm not really up on my Greek food but the staff was great and offered many helpful suggestions from food to wine. The whole fish was great.
2nd "can't go wrong" option is Miyake which by now might be on Fore St (not his noodle place which is very good but not in the same universe). Went last week with my chef-son who was visiting and treated him to the 7 course Omakase. He's still talking about a duck course as one of the best things he's ever eaten. This is not your mothers sushi place.
        Both places open Monday.
