garlic stems - how can I prepare them
Looking for a good way to cook garlic stems. Any suggestions?

Garlic scapes are delicious. Dice them and use them like garlic; they are somewhat milder. Recently I topped a pizza with them, used them with my roasted vegetables, in some hummus and in a sautee of swiss chard that I serve over penne. If you google garlic scapes you'll get some good ideas, e.g.:

I light them in a simple saute or stir fry.

1/2 pound garlic scapes
olive oil
sea salt
black pepper
Heat oil in a pan on medium-high heat.
Cut garlic scapes into 1-1/2″ pieces.
Sauté scapes in pan until tender, about 4 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper.
