Bloem Sugar Belgian Waffles in Powell Street BART Station

soupçon Jul 10, 2011 06:44 PM

Startled to see this kiosk today for the first time, next to the Powell Street BART exit to the Westfield Mall (opposite flank from Starbucks). I don't eat sweets, so didn't take one for the team I(but didn't check to see if they have savory options).

Has anybody tried it?

I got a Liege waffle a few days ago and it was a premade one that was reheated on the iron. It was extremely sweet and had no crisp to the exterior. It was disappointing. I recommend you try the mini ones for a dollar before deciding if they worth buying a full size.

I walked in today, but didn't get anything. They had lots of pre-made ones. Plain or you can add ice cream (Double Rainbow) or other toppings. Mini Liege are $1, Brussels & Reg. Liege start at $4 & w/ toppings (50c-$2 unlimited) can add up. Edit: No savory options.

        Two pics attached below.

          I found out:
          Brussels always made to order
Liege: "It varies depending on demand... but usually they are cookin' shortly after opening, noon, 2pm and 4pm at least. Sometimes the times change though, so you may try calling before heading over. 415-615-0064 "
