in Studio City? Can anyone recommend this place? It looks so cute and homey, I'm tempted to assume that the food is authentic and tasty.

  1. I like it very much. We go there every month and a half or so.

The croquette is tasty, as is the chicken cutlet with curry (way better than curry house). We've also had good noodle dishes.

For dessert, the steamed cheesecake and the cream puff are very good.

I like this place because they serve such comfort food.

    1. I like it a lot. The poke bowls are very tasty, as is the deconstructed California roll (in a bowl). The cucumber with miso is great, and I love hojicha and it's the only place I know in the Valley that has it regularly.

The parking is an absolute nightmare, though. It's in the same plaza as Nozawa. 'Nuff said.

Yum! What is the price range?

Prices are very reasonable. Nothing over $15 that I know of. Poke bowls are great! And the staff is super friendly...

Appetisers are in the $3-$5 range, main dishes are generally $6-$12 with some fancy stuff going for $15. It will take you FOREVER to decide what you want because you get two menus, PLUS the one in the holder on the table, PLUS the illustrated ones on the wall. If you know what you want, they'll probably make it for you if they have the ingredients available.

        2. Their fish is quite good. Most recently I had black cod fillet served with a soupy sauce. Sorry I can't remember the name!

Their dishes are all very fresh & cooked with minimal amounts of fat if at all! Most dishes are quite light but are served in substantial servings enough to fill you up. The take-home message of the restaurant is something like "homestyle, healthy Japanese food unlike what you would find at other restaurants," which I think sums it up pretty well.

Prices are maybe ~$7 for the simplest bowls to ~$15 for the largest, fancier ones. I think most fish dishes range from ~$9-$15. It's affordable for the quality of the food.

Their creampuff is huge & delicious!

          1. We love it! Favorites are: Eel bowl, Vegetarian Poki Bowl, Miso Cucumbers and Miso Eggplant, cold Sesame Spinach, Seaweed Salad, Brown Rice Tea and Black Cod Miso. Oh, and the Tsukune Salmon Bowl. What a sweet, comfortable place with great service and great prices.
