NYC for 2 nights with 2 kids!
Looking for recommendations for dinner with 2 kids (10 and 7) in Manhattan. They are not overly adventurous, but are definitely use to high end fine dining atmosphere, and they love to get dressed up! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Definitely recommend the Bhakti Cafe!
Food is great but very affordable! Staff is also very friendly.

25 1st Ave - between 1st and 2nd StI'd also recommend staying at the Sanctuary Guest Suites - great food, plus their lowest-priced accomodations (Divinity Apartment) works out to $25/person per night for 4 people. It's just a few blocks away, also in East Village.

so, there are thousands of restaurants on this tiny island, most of which could accommodate to kids. What about price range? When will the meal be?

Simple food where you won't be out of place (1) with kids, (2) dressed up a bit, and (3) can get a reservation on 2-weeks notice.
Let's see. I had dinner last night at the bar at Craft. I could definitely see young kids handling that menu and enjoying themselves. The menu at Lincoln (once translated for them) is also very accessible and quite good. You might also consider the tap room at Colicchio & Sons, as the large wood-burning oven might appeal to them.
If "not overly adventurous" means "pretty adventurous," you might consider someplace like Oriental Garden in Chinatown where you could order a whole crab or fish or other delectable seafood creature and enjoy it as a family. For that matter, Oceana might work too. Heck, last time I was at Le Bernardin there was at least one kid younger than 7, and you might just be able to get a reservation.

re: nooyawka
Really? The place with the big old bar right in the middle and the chalkboards? Stuffy? I mean, people dress up to go there (but that is exactly what OP wants) but if you think Oceana is stuffy I can't imagine how you feel about places like Daniel or Jean Georges or Le Bernardin.
