Osteria Venti

I believe this place opened up last month and I had been meaning to check it out, especially since when I have family visit at least one of them wants to eat Italian in this city. Yes, I know there's a lot of threads about Italian restos on this board but was curious about Osteria Venti, especially after Lesley Chesterman's 2.5 star (out of 4) review:

Apparently pastas are made in-house, the wine list is strictly Italian, and it also looks like their menu changes regularly (their online menus for lunch and dinner are dated for the week). Chef is formerly of Koko. Their website:

Anyone been?

    Current menu looks good: http://www.osteriaventi.com/uploads/m...
Has anyone dined there recently, since the aspargus Milanese has been on the menu?

I've only been for lunch. Food was good. They have a 2 or 3 service formula at 18$ or 23$. Apps are good sized and interesting. Mains change even more often than the rest of the menu. The venetian style veal liver I had was good but served medium (they didn't ask, but my experience is neither do they in Italy). I would've wanted it rare or at least medium-rare. Out of the Panna Cotta with berries I had my eyes on for dessert (seem perfect for the eat). Instead they had chocolat cake, which was pretty good and not too sweet.

Chesterman's is not the only review out there for this resto, I believe Cyberpresse as well as most of the weeklys have reviews, all positive if I remember.

Great, thanks sweettoothMTL! The generally positive reviews make this place on my go-to- list and I will have to go there and report back.
