Birthday cake say between SLO and Buellton

We are celebrating my mom's 70th bday with a BBQ at my grandpa's in Lompoc. It will probably be a large group 40-50 and I'd like to avoid a Costco cake but don't have a huge budget for this as my brother and I will be footing most of the bill for the entire party. Any ideas? Calling Pattycakes was my only idea. Thanks !

Piece of Cake, located in the Town Center Mall in Santa Maria. PattyBakes is an excellent source of cakes, especially carrot cake. Solvang Bakery makes wonderful, albiet expensive ckaes and pastry type delights. Lompoc- there are several Mexican Bakeries that I know of- if you look up Restaurant 4100- I think that is it- located on the golf course in Vandenburg Village- they may have a good rec for you in the local area- Sissy is the chef there and she is as local as they come.

Not sure why you want to avoid a Costco cake as they get rave reviews and are far better than most other large volumen cakes I have had for the price. You could easily bake up and frost 50 cupcakes yourself as another alternative and have one smaller festive center cake.
