I'll be grabbing dinner this evening on the way back from Brooklyn. Are there good places to eat near the Q stop at Beverly Road or the F train at Church Avenue? Thanks in advance.

  1. Q at Beverly puts you 2 blocks from Cortelyou Rd (next stop on Q train). Thats where several decent places (bars, small restaurants, etc) are located, including Farm on Adderley (Cortelyou off Adderley, 2 short blocks from the train), my favorite (moderately priced, but not cheap). It's also 5 blocks from Coney Island Ave, which has lots of Pakistanian storefront restaurants.

F at Church puts you in the heart of Little Pakistan on McDonald and Church. Not much other than storefront places, several written about here if you do a search.

Some recent news from around there: http://www.chow.com/digest/79865/new-...

I think the places on Church and McDonald are Bengladeshi.

Are you sure? I always thought that both this grouping and the one on Coney Island Ave were from Bangladesh and just advertised themselves as serving food from "Bangladesh, Pakistan and India" to cover all bases. But, now that some of the places have websites ( http://www.madinabrooklyn.com/ ), it seems that Pakistan might well be the homeland to several of them.

I'm not sure, but I thought CI Ave was more Pakistani.

These places are all Coney Island Avenue Pakistani joints. Church Ave/McDonald is a totally different story. Completely Bangladeshi.

Interesting. I always thought of it as one community. Thanks.
