Duluth restaurants

my husband and I will be in Duluth at the end of the month. Does anyone have restaurant recommendations? Thanks!

For breakfast I doubt you could do better than At Sara's Table Chester Creek Cafe at 8th Street and 19th Avenue near the UMD campus. I had this "Green Eggs and Sam" omelet amply stuffed with smoked salmon and it may have been my best omelet ever.

If you're into beer, Fitgers is good for their beer (they brew their own). The food is perfectly serviceable too.

I am enamored with the Positively Third Street bakery too, for cookies (Thunder cookies are probably their most famous) and the ultra neighborly hippe vibe.

OK, here are a few of our favs:

http://www.nokomisonthelake.com/ - high end, eclectic beautiful view of Lake Superior.

http://www.sceniccafe.com/ Have had pretty good meals here w/lovely garden out front across from the lake.

http://www.astccc.net/ Sara's Table Chester Creek Cafe, homey in an east hillside neighborhood w/lake view deck, homemade pies, friendly service, browse the bookshelves - click on "other menus", as "tonight's dinner" doesn't seem to be working.

http://www.vabenecaffe.com/va-bene-caffe.html -On Superior St. serving breakfast, lunch & dinner w/lake deck over the water-more or less, serving modern Italian w/selection of gelatos & other enticements.

http://www.grandmasrestaurants.com/bellisios/ -Bellisios at Canal Park on the lake-have had some good lunches here & sat outside weather permitting.

http://www.nwsmokehaus.com/ -Nothernwaters Smokehouse(across from Bellisios)has great sandwiches w/smoked fish, etc. - eat them there or pick up for a picnic.

http://www.pickwickduluth.com/ -old standby & local institution for Duluthians for decades w/lake views.

http://www.mysammys.com/index2.shtml Old pizza favorite for many of us who grew up in Duluth & always stop by when back in town from Boston.

Here's a link that'll find some Duluth recommendations:

            http://www.chow.com/search?query=dulu...

Also, do a search on heavytable.com for Duluth - they have good info from a local writer.

            Enjoy your trip!

There's a couple threads on Duluth on the Great Lakes board.
