Heading to Pensacola

I am heading to Pensacola to visit my brother, who just moved there. I would love some suggestions on fairly reasonable priced dining. We enjoy eating, so no type of cuisine is off limits just need to make sure I have enough money to make it home.

  1. Hopkins House used to be super, but last visit was tired. Hopefully others will comment.

Just googled the Hopkin's House, it no longer exist. Thanks though. I really am hoping more people reply. If not no worries, I not afraid to experiment.

    2. Salgal..I'm headed to Pensacola..hope you completed your visit and can share your fav food spots!

      1. There are lots of great and yummy places to eat in Pensacola:
$ Jerry's Drive In- home of the original bacon cheeseburger, cheap delicious greasy spoon, try the gravy fries, fried mullet, and livers and gizzards (the latter two if you're into that)

$$-$$$ McGuire's Irish Pub- an institution in Pensacola, great live music at night, dollar bills all over the walls and ceiling, fresh brewed beer, can be pricey but portions are huge, split an app sampler, a $10 burger, or splurge and split the most delicious smoked prime rib dinner, complete with mouthwatering brown honey bread, salad, side, and the 18 cent senate bean soup, a giant amount of food

$ Native Cafe, on the beach, mahi fish tacos to die for, also great breakfast and other lunch items, locally owned gem, only open until 3 pm

$ Dog House Deli, in downtown Pcola or on the beach, excellent, any way you want them hotdogs, try the nassau grits for breakfast

$-$$ Papa's Pizza on the boardwalk Pensacola Beach, awesome pizza, try the Joe Pesci and Frank Sinatra, can split half and half

$ Scenic 90 Cafe- the best diner ever, owned by the same folks who ran Skopelos, lots of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, from Fried Green Tomatoes to Oyster Rockefeller. Try the vegetarian poboy (down the road from scenic 90 is also a place called Nancy's Haute Affairs, owned by the same family, they do gourmet dinners with 2 sides for under $10

$ End of the Line Cafe- it's vegan, but tremendously delicious. I think they still do Thursday night 4-5 course dinners for $10

$ New Yorker Deli- fantastic sandwiches, pizza, salads, and italian style entrees, try the crab dip, pasta primavera w/shrimp, manicotti with half alfredo half marinara

$ Havana West Cafe-haven't been here yet, it's way over the west side of town close to the Naval Hospital, but everyone raves about the inexpensive, excellent quality Cuban food here

Hope this helps, enjoy your time in Pcola!
