Yes, the original is on Ventura Blvd in the valley. The second one is in Brentwood, another in Hollywood and now this one. I like the one in Brentwood the best. Low key, great cocktails. The sushi is fabulous. The Laguna beach branch is quite the scene. If you don't mind a bar that is loud with obnoxious women bumping into you all the time and $17.00 martinis this is the place. The food is excellent but much more expensive than the others. The menu is pretty much the same. The bar scene is so not laguna, it's so sleazy compared to the crowd in Brentwood.

I have not been to the Katsuya in Laguna, but I have eaten at the one in Glendale. Good, but expensive, and not overly special. There is similar options but fantastic sushi up the coast at Bluefin and my favorite place on Balboa Peninsule at San Shi Go.

KatsuYa (note spelling) Laguna Beach is one location in a chain of high end, glam-sushi establishments by Sam Nazarian's SBE group. Other Katsuya locations include Brentwood, Glendale, Downtown LA & Hollywood. The website is...

In my previous visits to various Katsuya locations, invariably the focus has been on the "scene", rather than the food.
