Filipino food near Milwaukee, WI

I recently moved to the Milwaukee area and I'm trying to find some good Filipino home cooking. I would kill for some dinuguan right now. Cursory Google shows nothing of interest, so I'm hoping some locals can help me out. Please don't tell me I need to drive all the way to Chicago for some good pinoy eats!

  1. I'm pretty sure that the only place you can come remotely close is La Merenda. La Merenda ( ) is a tapas restaurant whose food covers multiple nationalities. Traditional Filipino cuisine is a specialty of the chef-owner, Peter Sandroni, and occasionally they host special events featuring filipino dishes (such as the one noted at ). My recommendation is to contact them to see if they might be willing to arrange a dinner for you with the specific Filipino dishes you crave.

Oh, and if you do decide to go to Chicago, you'll find a list of Filipino restaurants there, at
