LA's Nom Nom Truck is coming to SF!

We'll finally get a good banh mi food truck in SF. Assuming that they have the permits/paperwork in order, the Nom Nom Truck plans to debut this month. This week they were hiring staff and will start training next week. See link for menu and pics. The debut day and location will be announced via Twitter.

  1. They started this week, anyone tried it yet? I read their best seller is honey grilled pork sandwich.

Tomorrow Sat 7/30/11 they'll be at: Proxy Hayes Valley 432 Octavia St, SF 5-9pm

I tried their grilled pork banh mi at Off the Grid in the Haight last night. Disappointingly bland. The Little Green Cyclo truck does a better banh mi for $2 less.

Nom Nom had the longest lines yesterday too, aside from the cupcake line.

OTG Haight is a very well-run event. But a bad place if you don't eat pork.

Have you tried Little Green Cyclo's spring rolls with duck?

I meant to get one, but we filled up on pork buns (Chairman Bao), bacon fries and grilled cheese with bacon jam (the also new, also echoing Bacon Bacon truck), whoopie pies (3 sum), and a cupcake (CupKate's). Health food, basically. I'm hooked on their scary looking basil seed drink.

Little Green Cyclo's banh mi are $5, so Nom Nom's is $7?

I went to the remodeled Saigon Sandwich last week, as good as ever and I think the most expensive was $3.50. They now have room for two people to make sandwiches at once, so the line moves even faster.

Yea, they are $7.00. They are on a long, skinny baguette which really doesn't hold much more filling than the standard size roll.
