Tacos de Chorizo de Cordero (Lamb sausage) a Mateo Granados (Healdsburg and Sebastopol)
A visit to the Sunday morning farmers market in Sebastopol was mandatory for my weekend guest for brunch at Mateo Granados booth. Another entry for the Yucatan/Mayan taco series.
Tacos de chorizo de cordero, $14 for a pair, but so much more bountiful than any other two tacos I’ve ever seen. Chef Mateo slaughtered a Preston Vineyards lamb and made the chorizo. The mildly spiced (Jules thought it was “medium” on the heat register), crumbly sausage was sauteed with eggs and carmelized onions then layered on black bean puree and tortillas. A dollop of salsa verde, a scattering of pickled red cabbage and red onions, and a scoop of guacamole on the side garnish the dish. We told him we were sharing and received two extra handmade corn tortillas.

It was more than the two of us could finish. We also enjoyed the agua fresca of the day, jamaica (hibiscus) brewed without additional sugar, sweetened only with the chunks of Big and Rainier cherries and Dry Creek peaches. So good.
P. S. I spotted another chowhound's name on the sign-up sheet. Hope he'll tell us what he had for breakfast here.
