Collins Brothers Chowder - Nashua

This year they are open part time during the summer... Thurs/Fri only. They advertise a $10 lobster roll with 100% real lobster meat. Anyone try it? They also have fish and clam chowder and a few other soups.

Finally went here today for the first time. The lobster roll was really good. Lots of meat and very, very light on the mayo. They are also using a soft roll, not a hot dog roll, but it's not the crusty roll as posted by kmhayes. So maybe they got complaints on it? I will definitely be going here again. $10 for a yummy lobster roll is my cup of tea!

I'm happy you liked it. I now realize that my comment about the roll can be taken as a negative review and I did not intend that at all. Collins Brothers will always get top ratings from me. I was just impressed that lobster salad in a simple hot dog roll could be so good!

The lobster roll is good - fresh meat with just a little mayo and no filler in a hot dog roll, but they are premade so the roll is not grilled. That's my lunch today! Their fish chowder is awesome if you can get it - it sells out quickly - gone by 11am today.

Update on their lobster roll - they've changed the bread and I didn't find it to be an improvement. They're now using a crusty roll which on it's own is good but I think it's too chewy for a lobster roll. Some might prefer that but I like the simplicity of a New England style hot dog roll.
