Annapolis area - celebration dinner

My brother lives in Annapolis (near the waterfront) and recently got a significant promotion at work. I life in Atlanta and can't take him out to dinner to celebrate, so I wanted to send him a gift certificate for a local restaurant so he and his wife can go out, on me. There's not a whole lot on Annapolis on this board, but I was considering Severn Inn because of the posts about the view. I've sent them gift cards for Chart House in the past (because they got married there), but would prefer to give a new restaurant this time. Any other ideas?

    I just wanted to tie out with all the folks who offered Lewnes' as a suggestion because they were so helpful. The man who answered the phone never balked at my request to purchase a gift card via phone. He got all my information correct on the first time, had no problem mailing it to my brother, and even wrote a congratulatory note from me to be included. I was very impressed with the service they gave on an atypical request, and I imagine it will continue at that same level when my brother and his wife dine there soon. Thanks!

        Yes, Paul and the Lewnes staff handle celebration dinners very well. In fact we're celebrating my Dad's 90th birthday there this week!

            I would pick Lewne's- steak house, dark wood, good steaks, O'Leary's- best upscale seafood in the area IMHO, nice upscale atmosphere, definitely a celebration place or Rockfish- also good seafood, not quite as upscale, but still nice.

              Lewnes' Steak house in Annapolis is a locally owned steakhouse with superb steaks and seafood. IMHO, obvious choice!

                I haven't been in a while so others would have to chime in, but I used to love Harry Browne's, plus it's right in town.
