I'll add George's California Modern to the mix, especially if you already have plans to be in La Jolla (note: this is the dining room, not the Ocean Terrace).

I guess I know where my mind is: when I saw this thread title I thought some local brewery came up with a new Belgian style beer.

        RB Hound
Then it would have been spelled "Tripel" which is what I am really into.

Super Cocina is the "don't miss" of the Mexican variety. Good call, karaethon!
Cowboy Star has the best skirt steak in the city. Skirt steak you say? It's the best cut of meat on their menu. Right chris2269?
Fine dining recs would be Market in Del Mar or hit the patio at Mr. As during happy hour to enjoy the sunset & miss the high price menu items served inside at night. Cafe Chloe is a great French bistro that I highly recommend for breakfast.
Start by grabbing wine from Cucina Urbana for the weekend. Enjoy your trip to San Diego.

          1) Kaito Sushi
          2) Fine dining of some sort... (Blanca among others)
          3) Good Mexican (Super Coccina?) DiningDiva can probably give a better recommendation here
