Restaurant in Markham/Richmond Hill for Aunt's Birthday?
It's my aunt's birthday this Friday and I'd love some recommendations for "Western" restaurants which could accommodate a party of 8-9 people (all adults, no kids). My comfortably middle-aged aunt has requested a "Western" meal, i.e., general North American/French/Italian. (We've done Chinese for her birthday for the past few years)
Budget isn't an issue, but we don't want it to be too fancy. We prefer to show up in jeans. Good food is a must and some palates edge towards the conservative side. Bluestone Bistro is a contender, but I would much rather our family celebrate my aunt's birthday some place a little nicer with a higher caliber of food.

Tutto Bene is pretty good but find the place really noisy and tightly packed. Bluestone Bistro has gone downhill as far as I am concerned since they changed their menu (very bizarre). We recently went to Mideastro on Hwy 7 and Langstaff, not exactly Markham but a bit west. Food and service were excellent.

Used to love Bluestone but their new menu is ridiculous and think their quality has dropped. Tutto Bene is good but very noisy and tables are tight. Used to love La Grotta on Main Street in Unionville. Great atmosphere. Had a great meal recenty at Mideastro on Highway 7 and Langstaff if that area works for you.

Make a reservation at 'Tutto Bene'! Great atmosphere and equally great food! One of the best Italian restaurant north of the 401! Their 'Grilled seafood medley with Boullabaise sauce appertizer', 'Veal chop with red wine reduction and garlic mash potaoes', as well as their ' Blackened Garoupa filet with pineapple salsa and lobster jus' alone are worth the visit!!
