Roberto's on Crescent St. is the best (and most expensive). More "family festive" than casual, though. Their much more casual sister restaurant on Arthur Ave. is Trattoria Zero Otto Nove, but note that they now have a Manhattan branch of ZON as well.

I'll pass on a recommendation from a Sicilian friend who frequents the Arthur Ave. area, though I've not yet had the chance to check it out: Trattoria Tra di Noi.

You have many options:
Mario's
Pasquale's Rigoletto
Umberto's Clam House
Zero Otto Nove
Ann & Tony's
F&J Pine (over in Morris Park, the Bronx's other Little Italy)
Dominick's
The shopping up there is fantastic:
Teitel Brothers
Addeo Bakery
Madonia Bros. Bakery
Mike's Deli
Casa della Mozzarella
Vincent's Pork Store
Borgatti's Fresh Pasta
Calabria Pork Store
Randazzo's Fish Market
Cosenza's Fish Market

Depends if you're a hipster or a gavone....If the former, yeah, Roberto's. If you're looking for an old world Bronx Italian/American red sauce one of a kind Arthur Ave back in the day experience, I would still go with Domincks.

I love knowing when someone is a real NY'er by their choice of terminology. I'm somewhat of a gavone, albeit one maybe with a little more class than others.

Haha, I like to think me too....especially since I defected to Westchester county years ago :)
