If quality Thai food is what you are really after, get on the red line at Gallery Place and go to Wheaton. My favorite Thai place in this area, Ruan Thai, is a couple of blocks walk from that station. There is a real dearth of good Thai places in the district.

Yeah, I think Ruan Thai is probably your best choice in the area. If you want to stay close, we think Absolute Thai and Royal Thai have been acceptable.

I don't remember whether I have been to Ruan, I have eaten at several spots in Wheaton and they were all good.......Back about 25 or 30 years ago there was the Thai Hut, with the BEST
Thai food ever, they used to be in Wheaton.

I'm a big fan of Royal Thai, which is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Spy Museum. It's on H Street a couple of blocks east of the Chinatown arch.

Thanks for the heads up, we are going to try Roal Thai

Kanlaya doesn't suck.

I would agree with Kanlaya. It isn't mind-blowing, but it is pretty good and it is very convenient to the neighborhood you'll be in.

I used to like Haad Thai which is a few blocks away on New York Ave (but I haven't been in a while).

Haad's not bad, but that room is soooo noisy
