I live in León, a city about 4 hours north of Madrid. I've been trying to find cocoa powder everywhere and cannot seem to find it..any tips on where I could find it? What it's called here? Do they even use it here? Or will I need to order it online. Thanks!!!

sorry, i can't help with the where - i live in LA and sadly i haven't yet made it to Spain! but maybe now that you know what it's called you can ask someone at the store if they have it...or where else you might be able to find it.

        good luck...or perhaps i should say ¡buena suerte! ;)

Cacao en polvo shouldn't be hard to find... Here in Madrid you can get it at Mercadona, El Corte Inglés, most other big supermercados, or at any decent herbolario (the little stores that sell herbs, spices, and natural foods). Also at the Valor (there's one in León, I think) and Cacao Sampaka chocolaterías. In El Corte Inglés, it's usually in the chocolate aisle (with the other Valor brand stuff)--or in the natural foods section that is outside of the supermarket.
