Best lobster roll/fried clams between New Haven and, oh, Madison?
What's the best seafood spot along that stretch of Connecticut?

Lenny and Joe's either location. The lobster landing has long waits and workers who are rude to customers

Yes, but the clams are just a few minutes' drive away at the Clam Castle! I didn't find the staff at Lobster Landing to be particularly charming, but they weren't at all rude. And even though it was a busy beach Sunday, there was no line.

I like Lenny and Joe's for both, on Rte 1 in Madison, and the Clam Castle right across the street is pretty good too.
Lenny's Indian Head Inn in Branford has excellent fried clams & whole lobsters but doesn't do a proper lobster roll (just cold lobster salad roll sometimes).

re: benbenberi
+1 with benben. Lenny's is our favorite for seafood. I love their fried clams and oysters. DW usually gets broiled fish. My sister will alternate clams with the cold lobster roll.

Actually, Lenny's will often make you a (hot) lobster roll, even though it's not usually on the menu, if you ask and they have enough lobster on hand. I don't think it's quite as good as the lobster rolls at some other places, but still quite acceptable if that's what you just have to have.

Lobster Landing has a good lobster roll for $15 in Clinton, right on the water
