daikokuya arcadia open!
*bounce*bounce* when did this happen? there's a daikokuya at the presidential food court in arcadia by 99 ranch!
it mustn't have opened too long ago, because i was there a few weeks ago and the space was still vacant. it's next to the new yogurt space and takes over the dumpling food joint's spot (made not so bad lion's head meatballs and good dumplings, but the wait was long). downer the restrooms at the food court are gross.
has anyone tried? so far none of their other branches has compared to the lt branch. but the parking is more convenient than mp or lt. although it can get more difficult than the cm/marukai's parking at lunch time. i haven't been to the hacienda heights branch, so can't comment...
anyways, woooo! hoping to try this week.
Thanks for the head's up! I wouldn't have known there was one in Arcadia otherwise. I'd be more gung ho about getting some ramen there but it's so freakin' hot at the moment!

Thanks for the 411!
I hope this new location recaptures the glory of the old Daikokuya (a la 3+ years ago). The current taste of the ramen at Daikokuya Little Tokyo has certainly gone downhill, and not worth the 1+ hour wait. I think they realized they could slide by on hype, and the hipsters would still line up... Brilliant business maneuver, but this Chowhound frowns.

How often does the second branch surpass the original?
Good thing there are so many other options in town. Literally, it would be faster to drive down to Yamadaya than wait that silly 1+ hour for bad ramen.

The wait for Daikokuy at Little Tokyo is ridiculous and I stopped going a long time ago.
This new location which is literally two blocks from my house is alright, I like to go for takeout for their ricebowls but I skip the ramen.

I feel the same way and I'll just get the shredded pork bowl there or something. Daikokuya has been going downhill but they have gone down even further with this Arcadia branch. The broth was really bland and I would much rather eat instant ramen at home and save money. i was so excited that they were opening so close to my home but what a shame.

its not bad to say the least but its pretty mediocre now. Personally I'm diappointed in their roast pork slices the most since that was something that was good most of the time at least when I use to frequent.
