Best chili dogs in Phx?
So far, for myself, Teds in Tempe is the favorite.......they grill up foot long coneys, their chili is tasty, overall good place for a chilidog. I used to work for Tempe Elementary School District as an electrician, and I worked at the Brogan Center on Priest and University, basically....this was in 1999-2001. during that time, there was a cart guy right behind Brogan, right after the overpass on University going towards Phx....That dude rocked, for $2.50, you got a chili dog with homemade chili, a can of soda and a bag of chips. That chili dog could feed 2 people, and it was DELICIOUS.......any other joints anyone would recommend when I come into town? Thx.

Hey AZSPARKY, we recently discovered the great "food truck" revolution. I am not sure if Short Leash Dogs has a specific "chili dog" but I know they have something close and their food is killer.

I second Ted's excellent chili dog especially with raw onions and cheese. Short Leash is also an excellent dog -- 1/4 lb natural casing Schreiners on choice of naan bread or conventional roll -- with some very interesting combinations and toppings. however i do not believe that chili is among those combinations and toppings. i like Chicago Hamburger Co. for lots of reasons (especially the char cheddar cheeseburger served medium rare) but I do not particularly like the skinless Vienna Beef dog that they offer.

As a native Texan I am about to speak some blasphemy, since the chili in no way resembles what is acceptable in the Lone Star State, but I always enjoyed the chili cheese dog at the Chicago Hamburger Co. on Indian School (with mustard, nothing else).
Never had a chili dog at Ted's, but the regular dogs are delicious. Mmmm....
