Thai Food in Naples?
We have moved to Naples after being part-timers for many years and are searching for some authentic Thai dining. We have tried Sushi Thai, Thai Basil, Pad Thai and Siam Thai, and was rather disappointed with each restaurant. I have heard of a restaurant called Em On Thai in the Greentree Plaza that is considered to be quite authentic. Has anyone tried this restaurant and give some feedback? I am always uncomfortable when I see a Thai restaurant that serves sushi, so would like to try something more true to Thai flavours.
Many thanks in advance!

Home Thai Sushi Bar is the best Thai I have found in the Naples area. I understand your reluctance when restaurants combine various cuisines, but the Thai food served here is comparable to the dishes served at my favorite places in Chicago, where I spent most of my life. I particularly recommend any of their soups, pad thai, shrimp in a blanket, panang curry, and duck in basil sauce, which is really killer.

Thanks for the feedback! We went to Em On for lunch and while lunch is usually not the best indicator, the food was delicious and relatively authentic... we are looking forward to trying Home Thai Sushi Bar in the next week or so, but for dinner where we will have a larger range of choice.
Again, many thanks!

re: An Insatiable Appetite
I just went back to Em-On's and had a delicious meal.
I put a write up on my blog.
They've been there since 1996-that's amazing staying power.
Em-On goes back to Thailand each year, so she's up on traditional as well as newer Thai food trends. Em-On's is also where many Asian servers, and cooks go to eat after they are done at their own restaurants-tells you something about Thai taste and authenticity.
The $30 special for two with a bottle of wine is a good deal, as the wine is quite good, not the cheap swill served by others in their specials.
