Il Moro does a nice job as does Napa Valley Grille for relatively large gatherings. I am sorry for your loss.

Upper West has a room that's separate from the main dining room - and there's a big screen where you could project photos of the deceased, which is always a nice thing to have.

Been to four funerals in the past month. One more coming up soon in a couple of weeks. A great majority of funeral luncheons here in the southbay are held at Sea Empress in Gardena which will accommodate large crowds. On a much higher end, Onami's in Torrance has an extensive seafood buffet. Just attended a funeral luncheon last Friday in Monterey Park for 100 people (10 tables) at Ocean Star which does a good job. Sorry for you loss.

I have never been to Casa Sanchez, but if I had to work within your parameters, I would check it out. They don't open until 5pm, but they might open for a private event.

May not be worth upsetting the cart, but Jerry's is not very good.

I haven't been to (any) Jerry's in a very long time, but as I remember (besides it being horrible), it was not cheap, you won't get much at $20 pp.
VIP on Wilshire/Barrington has a private room, although I don't know if it'll hold 50. Worth a call to find out, much much better than Jerry's.

That reminds me, Fritto Misto (walking distance from the Promenade) in Santa Monica has a private room that I think will hold that many and the food is good and the prices quite reasonable.

There is a restaurant upstairs from the Wine House on Cotner called UPSTAIRS 2. They have a private room with it's own ingress/egress called Addie's Place. You could do something and have them cater it.
