Macy & Jenkins, New York

We have two bottles of pretty decent whiskey, one Macy & Jenkins Old Rye - very smooth, with a nice finish - and Macy & Jenkins Club House 1860, a good bit livelier and less genteel. Another bottle of the 1860 was contaminated and was emptied and washed for sale as is. All three had cork stoppers with lead caps, and had sat in my late father-in-law's wine closet since around 1960, a legacy from his mother. These are not fancy jugs, but plain 1/5 gallon bottles. Since we have no license to sell whiskey we'll be forced to keep and drink it ourselves, gosh darn it, but if anyone has more info than Google can offer about this distributor (founded 1844, according to all the labels) I'd very much like to get it.
