Recs for Hancock, MA. area needed, please

Family will be in Hancock MA for a few days in mid-August, a mid-point destination to visit with old friends & get to Tanglewood. We do not know the area & need recs for some good (great) spots for lunches/dinners. Will have a car & willing to drive a bit. Open to most types of cuisine. Thanks.
PS: No little kids in the group.

    1. I second Brix (Pittsfield). Brix is one of the best restaurants in Berkshire County, but you better get there early. The place is small and they don't take reservations.
If you would like an excellent burger and a Greek salad, try the Lantern (Pittsfield) for lunch. They also have an assortment of great sandwiches.

      1. YES to Brix for dinner or Sunday brunch, no lunch. Also agree on the Lantern Bar & Grill for casual lunch or dinner, walking distance to Barrington Stage too. Mission Bar & Tapas for lunch or dinner, late night. WordXWord Festival will be running in downtown Pittsfield Aug 13-20, check it out here: Spice Dragon lunch/dinner Vietnamese + beautiful setting. And Colombian comfort food at La Fogata on Tyler Street. All in Pittsfield. Enjoy!

The Mill on the Floss is only a couple of miles from Jiminy Peak and has fantastic French cuisine. Flavours of Malasia in pittsfield is quite reasonable and really memorable dishes. I'll second John Andrews although it's quite a haul from Hancock.

I have to strongly disagree with the recommendation for Flavours restaurant. The food is just not good. Not once in many visits over the course of a few years.
The last time we went solely to hear a specific band, and got drinks and some 'safe' apps.
Not too safe I'm sorry to say.
Everything tasted prefab, premade, frozen and just fried and served.
I would not eat there again at all.

I'm with you, Cowgirl. Last time I was at Flavours was, well, the last time. Had Pad Thai with no fish sauce and absolutely no flavor.
I also have to disagree with The Lantern for the greek salad. Have eaten there with a vegetarian friend and she tried the salad, which was booooring.
And sorry Jenni, but there's nothing of note in Hancock (I live right next door), though you have some good recommendations from Lenox637 and the Bezershireite.
