Denver Organic/Free-Range/Grass-Fed Meat
I'm having a hard time finding a good selection of organic meats at Whole Foods and local grocery chains in Denver. (No problem finding ground buffalo meat, but not much else.)
I'm looking for the following:
Organic pork (ideally it should be humanely raised)
Organic turkey (is there such a thing as free-range turkey?)
I'd also love to have a steady source of milk from grass-fed cows.
I don't mind going to a farm or a specialty butcher for these things - I don't often cook meat at home, but when I do, I like it to fall into these guidelines.
You might check out In Season Local Market. I've been in the one in Louisville once and noted they had a selection of meats but didn't look closely so I'm not positive.
Silva's Highlands Homestead Beef is available at the Boulder County Farmers' Market. Grass-fed from weaning to processing.
Hi Heather, I talked to Sam's Meat Market on Chambers/Iliff they have organic meats on request.. they said more expensive of course.. you might try Tony's and I forget the one downtown Denver.. I'm sure they all carry some
