Need suggestions in *gulp* Staffordshire

  • 1

When visiting relatives in Stafford, they always say "ooh, let's go out for a meal". I have a very limited knowledge of where is good to eat in the area, and the places we seem to go never seem to be that fantastic.

The Hand and Cleaver and The Yew Tree near Stafford have both closed since I was last there. The Fox at Newport is pretty good the couple of times I have been there for lunches.

Is there anywhere within an evening's drive of Stafford that poeple can recommend?

  1. I have to confess I've never been to Stafford, but I have been to Shrewsbury, and had a very competent steak at the Peach Tree. Plus they were really nice.
I think Telford is also supposed to have a number of dining destinations.
