Foodies Visiting Miami
Me & my boys are visiting Miami for a few days at the end of July. We are huge food fanatics and would love some recommendations on where to eat. We will be staying at the Clevlander on South Beach. We are all about good food. It can be an expensive restaurant or even a hole in the wall restaurant but as long as the food is good we don't care. We also like all types of cuisine. Any help would be much appreciated!
Due diligence here. Look at past message boards. There are many great restaurants on South Beach (and better places to stay than The Clevelander too!). Stone Crabs are off season right now so forget about Joe's. Casa Tua is a high-end favorite of mine. Prime 112 and Meat Market are hot destinations. The food is just pretty good at Barton G's but it's a fun place to dine. Sardinia is outstanding high-end Italian. There are many more places. Do the research - - - it's all there.

Generally speaking, there is better food at better prices on the mainland, i.e., Miami not Miami Beach. If you will have a car, it will not be a problem to get there but if not, cab rides will be expensive. Off the beach, the favorites on this board (with some differences of opinion) in the City of Miami are probably:
Michael's Genuine
Michy's
Sra. Martinez
Sugarcane
Zuma
Il Gabbiano
Gigi
On Miami Beach, the faves (again with differences of opinion) seem to be:
Pubbelly
Scarpetta
Hakkasan
Sardinia
Meat Market
Prime 112
Casa Tua
For more casual food, Le Sandwicherie, Shake Shack, and Burger & Beer Joint are well regarded.
There are others worth mention, but that is a start.

Plenty of good choices here... Just adding Soho Beach House restaurant Cecconi's as similar to Casa Tua. The Wine Depot in South Beach is also a great way to start the evening. If you are stuck on Lincon Road consider Quattro or Alta Mare.

For great Italian food I would add Osteria Del Teatro on South Beach to the suggestions provided thus far. It is extremely consistent, has warm service, and the dishes are delicious. The menu online only gives a small sampling of the offerings.
