Shake Shack July 2011 Flavors - Any Must-Haves?

They have not posted their flavors yet on their site or social media. I will edit or append this post with the new flavors after they post them.

What was very interesting is they are doing Blueberry Pie Oh My for the 4th of July weekend. Since pumpkin pie oh my was my all time favorite, I am really excited about this.

  1. Here they are
    Monday: Peaches ‘N Cream
    Tuesday: Mud Pie
    Wednesday: Sour Cherry Cinnamon
    Thursday: Blueberry
    Friday: Salted Caramel
    Saturday: Chocolate Chip Cookie
    Sunday: Sweet Corn

The return of the mighty salted caramel. Chocolate chip cookie could be good, sweet corn sounds interesting and I am a sucker for blueberries if they actually put in blueberries.

I thought the blueberry pie oh my was nothing special. The pie was good but it did not have the magic that the pumpkin pie did.

I thought the chocolate chip cookie was great.

Just wanted to say I was completely addicted to Pumpkin Pie Oh My. I don't want to admit to the number of orders I downed that month.

      2. Just checked their website (some good flavors this month):

        Monday -- Peaches 'N Cream

        Tuesday -- Mud Pie

        Wednesday -- Sour Cherry Cinnamon

        Thursday -- Blueberry

        Friday -- Salted Caramel

        Saturday -- Chocolate Chip Cookie

        Sunday -- Sweet Corn

Looking forward to Monday, Friday & Sunday (and possibly Wednesday).

I think I'll be there every Wednesday. Sour cherry cinnamon sounds amazing.

(P.S. apparently that Blueberry Pie Oh My is basically a whole slice of blueberry pie blended with custard—yum! They also have hot dogs to go with it, just for this weekend.)

          1. re: loratliff

I think madison square park does not have the hot dogs but may have the custard. I would make sure before standing on line just for one or the other.

            1. re: tpigeon

Yeah, sorry, forgot to mention that in my OP—no hot dogs at Mad Sq Pk.

              1. re: loratliff

86th Street location has corn dogs. Bought one and a pint of the Salted Caramel "to-go". Tasted the soft serve: mild caramel flavor. Nice but not as good as the Jeni's Salty Caramel that I've bought at Dean & Deluca. (BTW the corn dog was "fun" but not worth a special trip).

Agree. The salted caramel is very mild, and barely shines through the custard base the way the more drastic mix-ins usually do. I'm excited about the pie flavors.

                  1. re: ellenost

Yes, the salted caramel was mild but quite pleasant. You mentioned Jeni's. You may enjoy this discussion: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/7022... .

Thanks for the link. I think I paid $14 for my pints of Jeni's at Dean & Deluca on Madison. Too bad Fairway doesn't carry it.

              2. re: loratliff

Yup, they do the same thing in the fall with Pumpkin Pie Oh My! A whole slice of pie in the concrete.

            2. Just tried the corn soft serve (can't remember if I've had this before). I'm not sure whether I taste any corn flavor. Nice vanilla flavor.

I had the corn soft serve at Momofuku Milk Bar before but not at Shake Shack. MMB's version was almost as good as their corn cookies.

                1. re: seal

Milk Bar's corn soft serve was great! Hope they bring it back! You might also like the corn gelato at Cones in the Village.

                1. Had the Peaches 'N Cream yesterday. Lot's of cream, not enough peaches to my taste.

                  1. re: RCC

Bummer! Was looking forward to trying it. Have found this month's flavors to be too mild (not enough of either caramel or corn, and now peaches). Hope Sour Cherry Cinnamon is better.

                    1. re: ellenost

I totally agree! Peaches 'N Cream was okay, but the peach flavor was weak.

We also had the Blueberry Pie Oh My! mixed in with vanilla custard (gulp). It was okay. I thought the blueberry pie was a little too sweet.

I guess we really wanted to like everything and it was fine, but the flavors were a bit disappointing.

                      1. re: uwsgrazer

I had Red Velvet Cake when I was in NYC two years ago. Loved it. Love salted carmel.
                        *sigh* I love ShakeShack.

                  2. I just got the Sour Cherry Cinnamon -- lightly tart with a hint of cinnamon underneath. Though, I'd have preferred a more prominent cherry flavor. It would have been so nice if it actually had small chunks of cherry in it.

                    1. I was away from Manhattan for much of July* but still got a chance to try Peaches, Salted C., Blueberry, and Corn. The Salted C was gently flavored, but pleasant (see related post above). The Corn was even milder. What happened to the folk who put out the pancakes and bacon flavor that assaulted you with what seemed like a pound of bacon fat? The Peaches and Cream was also muted, as others have observed. Worse, from my point of view, was that it was more a peach custard than peaches and cream. I don't know about you, but when I order X and Y, I expect a bit of X and a bit of Y, not an amalgam of XY. Peanut butter and jelly is a case in point, or bacon and eggs. I woud have preferred a creamy custard with bits of peach, or a peach swirl mixed in. Shake Shack has been playing loose with these combinations for some time. I don't think they're going to stop.

The Blueberry was a little sour the one time I had it, a failing that other fruit flavors at SS often share. They remind me of the worst excesses of frozen yoghurt.

                      * But, don't cry for me, tpigeon. I was having gelati by the gallon in Italy.

Good stuff FD. BTW last year's peanut butter and jelly custard was excellent. I hope they do it again this year sometime.
