Nice restaurant, group, kid-friendly

I need some help. I'm looking for a nice restaurant to have a celebration dinner. There will be 15-20 people with some kids. We'd like to stick to North County costal or inland. A private or semi-private room would be ideal but not necessary. Searching around, I find that Tapenade may be a good choice. Any other suggestions? Many Thanks.

I wouldn't say Tapenade is kid friendly at all..unless the kids are older...and you get the upstairs.
In La Jolla, I would chose:
The Shores @Hotel LJ Shores, Piatti's, Azul..
    What is your price point?

I guess Tapenade is out of the running. We don't have to stay in the La Jolla Area. I was thinking Cavaillon since it's closest to me but was nervous with the new change an my date being 2 weeks after their re-opening. Plus I, again, wasn't sure if they were kid-friendly. I don't think they have semi/private rooms right?

      My price range is $25-30.

      Thanks for the suggestions.

The Shores is oceanfront and will do will with your price point..
Cavaillon, I would only do outside for the noise level with the kids.
Piatti's on their patio is lovely and everyone would enjoy the food and ambiance.
Another thought since your up off the 56 is Hacienda de Vega off the 15 behind North County Fair..just a wonderful place with the large waterfall and great food.

My word, do you ever push Hacienda de Vega, Beach Chick. You must *really* like their margaritas. :)

[FWIW, we went their quite often when my current board handle actually reflected where I lived]

Cavaillon is a small space with small tables close together so not exactly kid friendly unless we're talking older, quiet, stay in your seat kids.

there are 2 posts on the board that Cavaillon's new chef has been performing well, so far. If the kids are not too rambunctious or loud, the outdoor patio area might work.

Piatti's would fit best in your price range.

I don't think Tapenade has a private room unless they've done some remodeling and not sure it's a good fit for young (middle school or younger) kids.

If you're wedded to the La Jolla area, I think Piatti's is better suited for a large group w/ kids.

Addison has 2 private rooms and if the kids are young, they can run around in the rooms and onto the outdoor patios.

Thanks for the suggestions. Piatti's looks nice.

As for Tapenade, I've never been but seen it mentioned a lot on the boards. Is it the one on Fay Ave? Their website shows a children's menu and they have one area that can be sectioned off to be more private. I'm okay with semi-private but I'm just thinking of other guests in case the kids get a little loud.

I think Addison may be to pricey for me for such a large group.
