need suggestions for home made cream cheese
I made a batch of yogurt using half and half and whole milk specifically so I could make cream cheese - or yogurt cheese - and it is really very good. And of course I made too much. Can I freeze it? Any suggestions for flavorings to add to it? I have fresh thyme, basil, rosemary and mint. I can buy lots of different dried chilies. Mangos are plentiful right now - mango cream cheese? I guess it wouldn't keep long. Avocado cream cheese? Hmmmmm... Any and all suggestions appreciated.
MMMmmm, I know it's creamy, I actually did the same with heavy cream to see how the cream cheese would turn out.
I don't know about freezing, I would think the texture would suffer. The plain cream cheese will keep for a bit (how long? don't know -- have kept 4 weeks at least).
Your add-ins already sound terrific. Don't forget smoked salmon.
