Lunch spot: 51 and 101

I am looking for a good lunch sport close to the 51 and the 101. Willing to venture 5-10 miles from there, but I have a meeting in the afternoon up there. Thanks

Thanks everyone. I think we will go to humble pie and save the MIM Cafe for next week when we can take our son. It is too bad that 25 degrees went out of business. It was a shame that it got stuck up in City North.

Isn't there a Vietnamese place you can see from the 101 near there that's supposed to be pretty tasty? I can't recall the name, nor have I been there, but I seem to remember hearing it was pretty good.

      Helpful, I know.

That's the Tea Light Cafe that exit2lef mentioned. It is quite good.

I thought there was another, but perhaps that was it. Or, more likely, I'm conflating a couple of places.

Viet Kitchen is at Cave Creek and the 101. That's probably who you are thinking of.

That's the one! Is it any good, or is that where I'm thinking of Tea Light Cafe?

Tea Light Cafe is at Scottsdale and the 101. Their food is a bit more expensive than most Vietnamese, but I do like their banh mi and spring rolls. Viet Kitchen isn't bad. My biggest hits against them are they list banh mi on their menu, but are one of those places that run out of them. Also, their soup spoons are tiny compared to the large pho bowls.

We really liked Viet Kitchen, but haven't been in over a year. Two of my favorites were the bánh bèo tôm chấy and the bánh uot thịt nuong.

Humble Pie is by far the best. Pita Jungle is solid, especially for a lunch. After that it gets a little thin. Mostly chains - some eh and mostly bad.

I'd probably just go eat at the Cafe at MiM. I really liked the food we ate there a few months ago.

                Agree about Humble Pie.

                a few other choices:

                Pita Jungle Desert Ridge location

Cafe at the Musical Instrument Museum (does not require museum admission)

Tea Light Cafe -- casual Vietnamese two miles east in the big "Scottsdale 101" shopping center

Humble Pie's Desert Ridge location is up in that neck of the woods. It's not my favorite pizza in town, but far from the worst. 25 Degrees (sorry, no place link is popping up for it) is also up that way, but I don't have any first-hand experience.

If I were coming from the East Valley or Scottsdale, Andreoli would be at the top of my list, given its close proximity to the Pima Freeway section of the 101.

Oh. Oops. Didn't know. I guess someone needs to update their site and their Facebook page.
