Doubles near yonge and dundas

  • 9

I am working in this area and though there are many Carribean places around , I couldn't find one which does a decent doubles. Coconut grove has it but its really pedestrian .

Any ideas, in walking distance?

  1. Nothing that is better than meh at best. You have to make a trek to get doubles. My fav are Ali's in Parkdale.

    1. You might want to walk to Kensington and get it from Patty King. It's a bit of a walk, but if you have time, you will pass through Chinatown too. I find Coconut grove bland as well...I gave it a BYOS rating in my personal notes (Bring Your Own Salt).

Last time I had doubles from Patty King they were pre-assembled and just sitting there. I wasn't a fan :(

Can you recommend a place that you do like wontonfm? I'm always open to trying other places too.

not much downtown unfortunately. the doubles at Island Foods (King/Dufferin) aren't bad. My go-to spot is ACR Hot Roti and Doubles in Scarbs. It's Lawrence past Kennedy, so far :(

      2. I know I'm stretching the definition of "walking distance" here, but I enjoy the doubles at La Limonada, which is located in a stand/booth thing in the park just outside Metro Hall, behind Roy Thompson Hall. It's only open in the summer, and I'm not sure how late. But all their food is good, as is their eponymous lemonade.
