Hobe Sound Area

I will be down in Hobe Sound in two weeks and looking for a place to do dinner on Friday night. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking while Hobe Sound isn't on the Fort Lauderdale/Miami board, you might have better luck with your inquiry there. Only place I can think of is Harry and the Natives. Old Florida dive type of place. Romantic dinner, absolutely not!

Also search for Jupiter restaurants, which will generally yield a rec of Little Moirs.

If you are anywhere near Jupiter, you must go to Little Moir's. Our favorite dish is a sweet potato encrusted fish served on top of a salad with fruit. The cottage fries with capers, onions, and cheese are very good too. We were there yesterday and had a creme brulee cheese cake for dessert that was incredible. There are two Little Moir's in Jupiter. I am not sure which is better, but we usually go the Food Shack (even though we had a great meal at the Leftover Cafe as well). If you are into it, there is great snorkeling nearby at Blowing Rocks Preserve.

No snorkeling for me. Someone might mistake me for a manatee and run me over with their boat! And we are not that far at all from Little Moir's so I will definitely check it out.

BTW, it is interesting that their website does not even show a menu.

Jupiter or Stuart are your only real options. I find no redeeming value at Harry and the Nativees. Just up the road in Port Salerno (south part of Stuart) is a great little dive called the King Neptune. Food Shack or Leftovers are great choices, no reservations taken, you have to wait on line, but it is worth the wait
